June 2009 - Murnane Brandt personal injury attorney Steven J. Kirsch was featured in the June 22, 2009 edition of Minnesota Lawyer in “Bar Buzz” along with attorneys Susan M. Holden and Michael D. Tewksbury. The three attorneys served together on the I-35W Survivor Compensation Fund special master panel and were recognized by the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) at MSBA’s 2009 Convention, receiving the prestigious Professional Excellence Award for their important work. A $1,000 donation was given in the recipients’ honor, with $500 going to the Red Cross and $500 to Waite House.

Steve was appointed to the I-35W Survivor Compensation Fund special master panel by the Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court in May 2008. Most recently, the panel concluded its review of claims and determined the final compensation allotted to victims of the August 2007 I-35W bridge collapse, approximately $36.6 million in state funds.
