Murnane Brandt personal injury attorney Steven J. Kirsch was recently recognized at two legal community events for his role as a member of the I-35W Survivor Compensation Fund special master panel. The Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) presented Steve and several others with its most prestigious accolade, the Professional Excellence Award, at the 2009 MSBA Convention in June. Steve was also honored, along with I-35W special master panel members Susan M. Holden and Michael D. Tewksbury, at a July 16 luncheon with the judges of the state appellate courts and district courts where the Minnesota Judicial Council and Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Eric Magnuson awarded the three with a special plaque for their important work.
Steve was appointed to the I-35W Survivor Compensation Fund special master panel by the Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court in May 2008. Most recently, the panel concluded its review of claims and determined the final compensation allotted to victims of the August 2007 I-35W bridge collapse, approximately $36.6 million in state funds.
Practicing law for more than 30 years, Steve is an accomplished litigator at Murnane Brandt skilled in ADR, toxic torts and civil litigation.
