Hamline Law Recognizes Alumnus Steve Kirsch for I-35W Work

Murnane Brandt personal injury attorney Steven J. Kirsch will be one of three Hamline University School of Law alumni to be honored by the school Oct. 1. Steve will receive a special plaque in recognition of his role in deciding appropriate survivor compensation for the August 2007 I-35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis.
Steve was appointed special master of the I-35W Survivor Compensation Fund special master panel by the Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court in May 2008. In this capacity, he was instrumental in evaluating victims’ claims and determining final compensation, which resulted in approximately $36.6 million in state funds.
Practicing law for more than 30 years, Steve is an accomplished litigator at Murnane Brandt skilled in ADR, toxic torts and civil litigation. He is a 1976 graduate of Hamline University School of Law.
