Thom Gilligan Presented on the Risks of Social Networking for Lawyers

Murnane Brandt trial attorney Thomas A. Gilligan presented DRI’s June 23 webcast “Social Networking and the Ethical Issues They Create,” an informative online seminar hosted by DRI’s Lawyers’ Professionalism and Ethics Committee.

“Social Networking and the Ethical Issues They Create” examined lawyers’ use of online networking sites for personal and professional purposes, and the ethical issues that can arise through online communications, advertising and solicitation, the unauthorized practice of law (UPL), attorney-client relationships, and the data made available for discovery and investigations.

Thom serves as webinar chair for DRI’s Lawyers’ Professionalism and Ethics Committee. He focuses his practice on product liability, employment litigation, and personal injury.
