Murnane Brandt associate Nicholas J. O’Connell has been named an “Attorney of the Year” by Twin Cities nonprofit Tubman. Nick will be honored at an October 27 reception for his pro bono contributions to the nonprofit’s Safety Project, a program assisting low-income clients with obtaining orders for protection (OFPs) against abusers.

Nick is the second attorney from Murnane Brandt to receive this volunteer recognition. Murnane Brandt, which is a former Tubman “Firm of the Year,” is in its third year of providing pro bono legal services to the organization and its clients—to date, nearly a quarter of the firm’s attorneys have donated pro bono services, equivalent to nearly $85,000 in billings.
