St. Paul law firm Murnane Brandt was recently highlighted by Minnesota Lawyer for its ongoing commitment to meeting the challenges set forth by the Minnesota State Bar Association’s (MSBA) Pro Bono Standard. The standard, which was adopted in 2008, calls on Minnesota firms to devote a percentage of their billable hours to benefit the disadvantaged.
Murnane trial attorney Thomas A. Gilligan, Jr. was interviewed for the article and shared about the firm’s approach to pro bono, which often leads attorneys to think beyond their primary practice areas. He cited the firm’s dedication, through eight of its own now trained as “safety project” lawyers (including Thom), to representing victims of domestic violence through Tubman (formerly Chrysalis and Tubman Family Alliance). This is just one example of its contributions to the community; Murnane Brandt remains firm in its commitment to providing quality pro bono services.
