Chris Angell focuses his litigation practice on several key areas, including insurance defense; construction law and litigation; employment litigation; and personal injury, premises liability and product liability matters. More specifically, he has experience handling numerous cases involving construction defects and insurance coverage. In his employment litigation practice, Chris often defends employers in harassment and discrimination suits. He has also represented a wide variety of clients in invasion of privacy and defamation disputes, and defended merchants against claims of wrongful detention or arrest.
Chris is admitted to practice in Minnesota state and federal courts, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. He has been named a “Rising Star” by Minnesota Law & Politics since 2007 and is a past recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Employment Law from the Minnesota State Bar Association.
Born in Saint Paul, Chris received his J.D. magna cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law. While enrolled in law school, Chris was a member and associate editor of the William Mitchell Law Review. He received his B.A. in History from Willamette University. Prior to joining Murnane Brandt in 2004, Chris clerked for the Honorable Elizabeth “Betsy” Martin of Minnesota’s Tenth Judicial District.
When not representing clients, Chris enjoys playing hockey.
