Thomas Conlin, now of counsel, has been with Murnane Brandt since 1960. He has tried over 100 cases in the state and federal courts in Minnesota and Wisconsin and has served as national coordinating counsel in environmental and recreation law cases. Tom has practiced in the areas of litigation, arbitration and mediation in contract and negligence law, insurance law, legal and medical professional malpractice, products liability, environmental and recreational cases.
His current practice focuses on mediation, arbitration, and other types of alternative dispute resolution. Tom has been a court-appointed, privately selected, and AAA neutral. He serves on panels of CDR Minnesota and Advanced Dispute Resolution, Inc. and has been listed as a neutral with Ramsey County and the Supreme Court of Minnesota Board of Certified Neutrals.
Tom is a member and past president of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and has been named in Woodward & White’s Best Lawyers in America annually since 1987. He is a member and past president of the Ramsey County Bar Association, a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, Board of Governors, American Bar Association, and the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys. Tom was also a member of the Judicial Counsel, Select Committee on the Judiciary and Judicial Planning Committee of the Supreme Court of the State of Minnesota, and a member of the Board of Trustees for William Mitchell College of Law.
Tom received his J. D. from William Mitchell College of Law in 1958. Recently he was recognized with the William Mitchell Distinguished Alumnus Award, which is given to alumni who demonstrate the highest values and ethical standards in achieving professional distinction, lasting contributions to their field of endeavor, professional accomplishments of a distinctly creative or challenging nature, and outstanding leadership within their profession. Tom received his B. A. from Mankato State College in 1982.
Tom loves helping his family including his grown children and grandchildren. He enjoys golf and skiing along with bridge and book clubs as well as mentoring new lawyers and fundraising for Habitat for Humanity, St. Mary of the Lake, Minnesota State University and the William Mitchell College of Law.
